About
Welcome to Willngness to Grow!
I started this blog in 2010 after realizing that although there are a myriad of healthy living blogs out there, there are very few written by a woman in her forties. And we are facing different issues than our younger women friends.
I enjoy being healthy and also helping those around me become more healthy – or at least educated as to healthy options. Because of my incredible love for animals, I have chosen to embrace a vegetarian lifestyle, although I approach it with kindness (meaning if I am served meat at a dinner party, I will eat it with a genuine smile on my face). I am neither critical nor judgmental of people who eat meat (I am married to someone who does), but I do urge that people support stores and restaurants that offer humanely treated options.
All of my life, I have been an athlete, playing tennis, basketball and volleyball. In my thirties and early forties, I have competed in triathlons, 5k, 10k and 15k races, and half marathons. In the last few years, I have become passionate about yoga. As the aches and pains increase in my body, I strive to find a balance with my physical activities.
I spend my days as an attorney and volunteering on a number of boards in the charming Southern town of Savannah, Georgia. My nights and weekends are spent with my family and friends. I especially enjoy time with my husband and our family of four-legged animals. We are fortunate to be able to split our time between Savannah and the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.
This blog has morphed into more than a healthy living journal as I discuss many of my other interests, including my family, books, self-awareness, and music. I value your feedback and questions and, most importantly, your interest! If you would like to contact me, please email me at leeann@willingnesstogrow.com.
